The review covers correct classification under the applicable regime – IMDG for sea freight, ADR for road transport, IATA DGR for air freight –, prescribed packaging, labelling and marking, and compliance with quantity thresholds. Formal approval is issued by the designated dangerous goods safety adviser or the shipping team only after a successful check. It should not be confused with the dangerous goods declaration itself: the order release is the internal control stage that precedes declaration and booking. The step protects companies against fines, cargo rejections by carriers and liability exposure in the event of an incident.
