# Customs Statistics

Freight forwarders and trade compliance teams rely on them for market analysis, tariff monitoring, and supplier due diligence. In most countries the data is publicly available – in the EU through Eurostat and the European Commission's trade databases – and is typically updated monthly or quarterly. Customs statistics are not the same as trade statistics: the former are derived from customs declarations and cover goods movements only, while the latter also encompass services and balance-of-payments adjustments.
