# Customs Client Administration (ZKV)

> The Customs Client Administration (Zollkundenverwaltung, ZKV) was the former online platform of the Swiss customs authority through which companies and private individuals registered as customs clients and managed their master data.

The Customs Client Administration (Zollkundenverwaltung, ZKV) was the former online platform of the Swiss customs authority through which companies and private individuals registered as customs clients and managed their master data. As part of the DaziT digital transformation programme, the ZKV was replaced by the ePortal of the BAZG (Federal Office for Customs and Border Security): registration, user and role management, and the assignment of the UID (business identification number) now take place in the ePortal rather than in the ZKV. For forwarders, hauliers and trading companies, the ZKV was, among other things, a prerequisite for obtaining electronic assessment decisions (eVV) and participating in goods traffic via e-dec. With the switch to Passar, the self-care principle applies: business partners enter and maintain their own data and use digital tokens instead of certificates for the technical B2B interface (API). Not to be confused with the BAZG business partner role or with the ePortal itself – the ZKV is the superseded predecessor system.
