> The country of dispatch is the country from which a shipment is physically sent – what counts is the actual location of the sending facility, not the shipper's registered headquarters.

The country of dispatch is the country from which a shipment is physically sent – what counts is the actual location of the sending facility, not the shipper's registered headquarters. A company based in the Netherlands dispatching goods from its warehouse in Poland has Poland as the country of dispatch. This designation matters for customs declarations, applicable customs law, routing decisions, and insurance coverage. It must not be confused with the country of origin, which identifies where goods were manufactured or substantially processed and governs tariff rates, preferential treatment, and anti-dumping measures. The two may coincide, but frequently do not.
