# Conventional Customs Procedures

This baseline process is the default under customs law and stands clearly apart from simplified procedures open to Authorised Economic Operators (AEOs) or frequent importers, as well as from special regimes such as inward processing or temporary admission. Conventional procedures demand more time and complete documentation, but they provide full legal certainty. They are the norm for infrequent importers or newly established trade flows.
