*Last updated: 2026-06-26*

> The centralised settlement procedure of the Swiss customs administration (German abbreviation ZAZ; English "CSP") is an account with the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) that lets companies pay import duties not in cash at the border, but later via consolidated invoice – so goods clear customs faster and cashless.

It is aimed primarily at importers and freight forwarders; joining requires a declaration of accession and a security deposit. Process: the goods declaration is filed before import as usual (via Passar, or the legacy e-dec system it replaces); after release the goods are handed over without immediate payment, while the import duties (customs duty, VAT and other levies) are charged to the ZAZ account and invoiced periodically. Payment is made by direct debit (LSV) or e-invoice. Planned change (roadmap, dates may shift): as part of the migration to Passar 2.0 (import), existing ZAZ accounts are being phased out from 2026 and replaced by the BAZG business partner ID; this is part of the ongoing DaziT transformation. Distinction: ZAZ is a payment and settlement account, not the declaration system itself – the actual customs declaration runs through Passar (formerly e-dec). Related terms: BAZG, Passar, ePortal, business partner role / business partner ID, assessment decision, DaziT. As of: June 2026.
