# BAZG Interfaces Transport

> Transport interfaces are the digital connections through which data is exchanged between forwarder, carrier, customs and other parties — put simply, they ensure declarations flow from system to system without paper and without double entry.

Transport interfaces are the digital connections through which data is exchanged between forwarder, carrier, customs and other parties — put simply, they ensure declarations flow from system to system without paper and without double entry. Technically, BAZG-compliant interfaces are technical standards (message format, authentication, error handling) through which industry and ERP software communicates with the Passar goods-traffic system of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG). Under the DaziT digitalisation programme, Passar replaces the legacy systems: for transit and export Passar is already in production (Passar 1.0), while import has been migrating to Passar 2.0 in pilot stages 1 and 2 since Q2 2026; e-dec import remains possible until the last declaration on 30 September 2027. Forwarders, customs agents and trading firms connect their systems via these interfaces to submit goods and transport declarations automatically and read back assessments (Veranlagung).
