Unlike a warehouse management system (WMS), which focuses on inventory placement and stock control, an appointment scheduling system governs the timed flow of vehicles at the transport-warehouse interface. Most modern solutions connect via API to TMS platforms and support self-service booking by drivers or dispatchers, reducing dock wait times and eliminating much of the manual coordination between parties.
