Unlike the publicly accessible landside, the airside encompasses all airport zones directly associated with flight operations: runways, taxiways, aprons, and aircraft stands. Access is strictly controlled – only authorized personnel and approved vehicles may enter, following security screening and with a valid airside pass. For freight forwarders and ground handlers, the airside is the core operational area where air cargo is loaded and unloaded, aircraft are turned around, and ground handling services are delivered. The physical separation from the landside is a fundamental pillar of international aviation security.
