When an aircraft docks at a cargo gate, airlines, ground handlers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and security teams must synchronise information within minutes. An Airport Cargo Community is the digital platform that connects these parties, enabling secure, real-time exchange of cargo manifests, customs declarations, and shipment status updates without manual re-keying. The result is faster clearance, fewer data errors, and end-to-end visibility across all stakeholders. Established messaging standards include CargoIMP and TRAXON; IATA's ONE Record initiative aims to replace these legacy formats with a standardised, cloud-based data model. Major cargo hubs such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam Schiphol, and Singapore Changi operate their own community systems integrating local authorities and handlers into a single network.
