Freight forwarders, charter brokers, and shippers turn to air charter cargo services when scheduled airline capacity, routing, or departure timing falls short of operational needs. A full charter places an entire aircraft at the customer's disposal; a part charter secures a defined payload portion on a non-scheduled flight. Departure point, time, and destination are freely negotiated—an advantage that often proves decisive for urgent, oversized, or temperature-sensitive cargo. Pricing is based on the chartered aircraft rather than actual load weight, making charters cost-effective only at high utilization rates. Not to be confused with ACMI leasing, where an airline provides aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance on an hourly basis.
