> La Sierra Leone est un pays côtier d'Afrique de l'Ouest dont le port en eau profonde de Freetown est la principale porte d'entrée. Les importations sont soumises à une GST de 15 pour cent et au tarif extérieur commun de la CEDEAO, dédouanées via ASYCUDA World. En tant que PMA, le pays bénéficie d'un accès en franchise à l'UE (Tout sauf les armes) et est partie à la ZLECAf.

Sierra Leone (ISO-Code SL) liegt in Westafrika an der Atlantikküste und grenzt an Guinea und Liberia. Es ist eine präsidiale Republik mit tropischem Klima, einer Regenzeit von Mai bis Oktober und der Harmattan-Trockenzeit von November bis April. Die Wirtschaft stützt sich auf Bergbau (Eisenerz, Bauxit, Rutil, Diamanten, Gold), Landwirtschaft und Fischerei. Im Aussenhandel exportiert das Land vor allem mineralische Rohstoffe und Agrargüter und ist stark auf Importe von Lebensmitteln, Erdölprodukten und Industriegütern angewiesen. Logistisch ist der Tiefwasserhafen Freetown (Queen Elizabeth II Quay) das zentrale Gateway, ergänzt durch den Flughafen Lungi und Strassenkorridore in die Nachbarländer. Einfuhren unterliegen einer Goods and Services Tax von 15 Prozent und dem ECOWAS-Aussenzolltarif. Die Landeswährung ist der neue Leone (SLE), der 2022 den alten Leone (SLL) im Verhältnis 1000 zu 1 ablöste.
