> Oman occupe une position stratégique à l'extrémité sud-est de la péninsule Arabique, sur le golfe d'Oman et la mer d'Arabie. Les ports de Salalah (plateforme mondiale de transbordement), Sohar et Duqm, ainsi que l'aéroport de Mascate (MCT), assurent le commerce extérieur; le réseau ferroviaire n'est qu'au stade de projet. Le dédouanement est entièrement électronique via le guichet unique Bayan de la douane (ROP), au sein de l'union douanière du CCG avec un tarif extérieur commun le plus souvent de 5 pour cent. La TVA à l'importation est de 5 pour cent. Grâce à l'accord de libre-échange AELE-CCG, les marchandises d'origine suisse bénéficient d'un traitement préférentiel.

Oman (OM) liegt an der Südostspitze der Arabischen Halbinsel und fungiert als Transitland und Umschlag-Hub am Golf von Oman und Arabischen Meer — die Häfen Salalah und Duqm liegen ausserhalb der Strasse von Hormuz. Als Mitglied der GCC-Zollunion gilt ein gemeinsamer Aussenzoll von meist 5 Prozent auf den CIF-Wert; die Zollabwicklung läuft elektronisch über das Single-Window Bayan der ROP-Zollbehörde, die Einfuhr-VAT beträgt 5 Prozent. Wichtigste Gateways sind die Häfen Salalah (globaler Transshipment-Hub), Sohar und Duqm (SEZAD) sowie die Flughäfen Maskat (MCT) und Salalah (SLL). Strassenseitig verbinden der Batinah-Korridor Maskat–Sohar–VAE und die Route 31 nach Salalah das Land mit dem GCC-Netz; ein Schienennetz ist erst in Planung. Exportiert werden vor allem Rohöl, Erdgas und Petrochemie, importiert Maschinen, Fahrzeuge und Nahrungsmittel; wichtigste Handelspartner sind China, Indien und die VAE. Über das GCC-EFTA-Abkommen sind Schweizer Ursprungswaren präferenzberechtigt.
