Die Turks- und Caicosinseln (ISO-Code: TC) liegen in der Karibik, südöstlich der Bahamas und nördlich von Hispaniola. Politisch handelt es sich um ein Britisches Überseegebiet mit lokaler Selbstverwaltung unter der Aufsicht der britischen Krone. Das Klima ist tropisch-maritim mit warmen Temperaturen, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und einer Regenzeit von Mai bis Oktober.
