Äquatorialguinea (ISO-Code: GQ) liegt an der westafrikanischen Atlantikküste und besteht aus einem Festlandteil sowie mehreren Inseln, darunter Bioko im Golf von Guinea. Politisch ist das Land eine präsidentielle Republik mit stark zentralisierter Machtstruktur. Das Klima ist äquatorial mit ganzjährig hohen Temperaturen, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und intensiven Niederschlägen. Wirtschaftlich ist Äquatorialguinea stark vom Erdöl- und Erdgasexport abhängig, was die logistische Ausrichtung auf den maritimen Sektor prägt. Die Seehäfen von Malabo und Bata sind zentrale Knotenpunkte für den Aussenhandel und die Energieexporte. Im Aussenhandel dominieren fossile Energieträger, während verarbeitete Güter, Nahrungsmittel und Investitionsgüter überwiegend importiert werden.
