## Description

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (IATA: CGO, ICAO: ZHCC) passed one million tonnes of cargo and mail for the first time in 2025, putting it among China's leading freight airports. The engine sits immediately north of the field: the Foxconn complex inside the comprehensive bonded zone, from which a large share of the world's newly built iPhones begins its journey. Seventy all-cargo routes link Zhengzhou with 73 cities in 32 countries; the "Air Silk Road" to Luxembourg, running since 2014, anchors the Europe axis, China Postal Airlines resumed its Zhengzhou–Seoul freighter service in June 2025, and Malaysia's Raya Airways added another all-cargo operator. The scale of daily operations showed on 25 October 2025, when the airport recorded more than 100 freighter movements and over 4,300 tonnes handled in a single day. A new North Cargo Area of 160,000 square metres raises annual capacity to 1.1 million tonnes. Throughput grew by roughly 10% a year on average between 2021 and 2025, increasingly driven by e-commerce, cold chain and outsize consignments. Zhengzhou is also China's classic railway junction where the north–south and east–west trunk lines cross and China–Europe freight trains depart, a rare pairing of air and rail corridors in one city.
