## Description

More than 800,000 tonnes of cargo and mail passed through Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (CGO) in 2024, placing it among China's largest cargo airports. The engine sits next door: the Foxconn complex in the comprehensive bonded zone just north of the field, from which roughly two-thirds of the world's new iPhones begin their journey. Seventy all-cargo routes connect Zhengzhou with 73 cities in 32 countries. Korean Air operates 777 freighters via Seoul to Chicago, Cathay Cargo moves over 150,000 tonnes a year through the airport, and the "Air Silk Road" to Luxembourg, running since 2014, anchors the Europe link. A new North Cargo Area of 160,000 square metres raises annual capacity to 1.1 million tonnes. Beyond electronics, e-commerce, cold-chain and outsize cargo are growing. Zhengzhou is also China's classic railway junction where the north-south and east-west trunk lines cross, complemented by China-Europe freight trains – a rare pairing of air and rail mainlines in one city.
