## Description

Some 770,000 tonnes of air cargo moved through the Abu Dhabi Airports network in 2025, up 12% year on year — and Zayed International (IATA: AUH) carries the bulk of it, with freighter traffic alone reaching 58,128 tonnes in Q1 2026 (+11.4%). The airport is the home base of Etihad Cargo, which runs IATA CEIV-certified pharma corridors, cool-chain capacity and a dedicated equine product. Terminal A, opened in late 2023, gave AUH one of the most modern airport complexes in the region and freed space for cargo growth on the airfield. Surface links are genuinely multimodal: the E11 motorway connects to Dubai, deep-water Khalifa Port and the KEZAD special economic zone are about 40 minutes away, and Etihad Rail's freight network now links the emirate's ports by rail. Bonded warehousing and 24/7 customs clearance are standard. Positioned as a less congested alternative to Dubai's facilities, AUH is expanding its freighter network toward Asia and Africa — including new direct cargo links such as K-Mile Air's service to northern Thailand.
