## Description

Marine products, sardines, coconut and rubber define the freight profile of Zamboanga, the airport at the western tip of Mindanao. The city is the canned-sardine capital of the Philippines, and the seaport barely two kilometres away ties canning, fishing and aviation into one logistics cluster. A dedicated cargo facility inspects, documents and stores shipments, with clearance handled by the Philippine Bureau of Customs. In 2019 the airport processed about 14,509 tonnes of cargo, mostly as belly load on Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia services to Manila, Cebu and Davao. Intercontinental consignments consolidate through Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB). Together the airport and seaport make Zamboanga a multimodal reference point for western Mindanao. Capacity tightens in peak season, so early booking is advised.
