## Description

Helicopters lifting off from Zabrat, just northeast of Baku, head out over the Caspian to the offshore platforms — most famously Neft Daşları, the storied 'Oil Rocks' settlement built on stilts. With a runway of only about 850 metres, the field is built for rotary-wing and business aviation serving the offshore oil industry, not for air freight. It has no cargo terminal or routine forwarder handling. Conventional air cargo for greater Baku is processed at Heydar Aliyev International (GYD), home base of Silk Way West Airlines.
