## Description

Designed for 1.5 million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of freight a year, Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) is Cameroon's second-largest airport and the gateway to the capital. Its cargo complex includes a 1,839 m² warehouse, twelve Boeing 747 freighter docks, a transit zone, animal quarantine, a health office, X-ray screening and refrigerated storage. The field is Camair-Co's hub and hosts international carriers to Europe and the Middle East, among them Air France, Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Turkish Airlines. Freight skews toward pharmaceuticals, diplomatic and administrative shipments and perishables that use the cold-chain facilities. Passenger numbers grew about 13 percent in 2024. Douala (DLA) still draws the bulk of the country's cargo, but Nsimalen complements it with modern handling roughly 24 kilometres south of Yaoundé.
