## Description

Opened in 2002 with ambitions far beyond its traffic, Yangyang International (YNY) on Korea's east coast spent years as one of the country's quietest airports. A restart came in September 2025, when Parata Airlines – the rebranded successor of bankrupt Fly Gangwon, now owned by appliance maker Winix – resumed scheduled Jeju flights. Cargo plays no role here: there is no freight terminal and no cargo carrier serves the field. Shipments for the Sokcho and Seoraksan tourism region arrive by air via Incheon International (ICN) and complete the journey by road.
