## Description

Wuhan works with two airports that do very different jobs: Tianhe (WUH/ZHHH) is the passenger gateway, which still moved 179,669 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2025, up 3.8% year on year, while Ezhou Huahu (EHU) some 80 km east is a purpose-built freighter airport. Much of Tianhe's tonnage travels as belly cargo, but scheduled main-deck capacity exists too: Etihad Cargo serves Wuhan twice weekly from Abu Dhabi, with onward transfer into SF Airlines' domestic network. Ezhou, built around SF Airlines, keeps adding intercontinental services, including routes to Athens, Riyadh and Frankfurt-Hahn launched during 2026. The practical split for shippers is straightforward: express and freighter loads tend to route via Ezhou, belly and regional traffic via Tianhe. Tianhe serves Wuhan, capital of Hubei province and the largest economic centre in central China. Yangtze river ports such as Yangluo, plus rail and motorway links, support air-sea and air-rail combinations into the interior. Customs formalities are handled by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC), and a local agent is advisable for licensed or regulated commodities. Alternative gateways include Ezhou (EHU), Zhengzhou (CGO) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG).
