## Description

128,700 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2025 marked an all-time high for Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (WNZ), the air gateway of one of China's most export-driven private-economy cities. Wenzhou's factories ship shoes, eyewear and low-voltage electrical equipment worldwide. Most airfreight still moves domestically, but international volume is climbing fast: it passed 20,000 tonnes in 2023, nearly tripling year on year, with Italy as the top overseas market thanks to the large Wenzhounese diaspora there. The approved master plan targets 285,000 tonnes of capacity by 2030, and SF Express facilities are planned on site. For intercontinental main legs, forwarders still route larger volumes via Shanghai (PVG) or Hangzhou (HGH), both reachable by expressway and high-speed rail. For consumer goods exports from southern Zhejiang, WNZ is the shortest path to the air network.
