## Description

Set in the Riverina, one of New South Wales' most productive agricultural districts, Wagga Wagga Airport is the busiest regional terminal between Sydney and Melbourne. Rex, QantasLink and Link Airways run daily passenger services to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, while Rex also bases its Saab 340 heavy-maintenance operation here. The airport has no dedicated freight terminal: air cargo is limited to charter and belly capacity arranged through Wagga Air Centre. Scheduled freight from the region's grain, wool and livestock producers moves by road to the Sydney cargo gateway, roughly 450 kilometres away. The neighbouring RAAF Base Wagga, a key training centre of the Australian air force, gives the site an additional aviation profile.
