107,412 tonnes of freight moved through Tocumen International Airport (PTY/MPTO) between January and May 2026, ten percent more than a year earlier, confirming the Panama City site as Central America's leading air cargo location. DHL Aero Expreso and Uniworld Air Cargo base freighter operations here, and Copa Airlines adds substantial belly capacity through its Hub of the Americas network covering 76 cities in 31 countries across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. With more than 20 million passengers in 2025, Tocumen is also the region's busiest passenger airport, which keeps transfer times short for shipments moving between the Americas.
