## Description

Tourism, not trade, defines Tioman: the airport exists to feed the resorts, dive operators and day visitors of this island off Malaysia's east coast. Its runway, barely 1,000 metres and hemmed in by forested hills and the South China Sea, admits only small turboprops on a demanding approach.
