## Description

Three small islands and one short hop define Tinian's air links: Star Marianas Air shuttles the few miles to Saipan several times a day in light aircraft. Tinian International Airport (TIQ) has no cargo terminal, so freight moves as belly load and on the inter-island parcel runs of Micronesian Air Cargo Services (MACS) among Tinian, Saipan, Rota and Guam. Anything of weight reaches international networks via Saipan (SPN) and the cargo hub at Guam (GUM). Tinian is best known for North Field, from which the 1945 atomic-bombing missions were flown. For shippers, TIQ is a feeder point rather than a handling site.
