## Description

Few Kazakh cities have changed names as often as Taraz — known as Aulie-Ata and later Dzhambul in the Soviet era — yet its airport keeps the older code DMB. Serving the southern provincial capital of Jambyl, it runs domestic flights to Astana and Almaty but has no dedicated freight terminal. Shipments move mainly by road along the Shymkent–Almaty corridor, with genuine air-cargo capacity found in Almaty (ALA) some 500 km away and nearer Shymkent (CIT) acting as a regional collection point. For forwarders, DMB is a passenger airport whose goods travel overland.
