## Description

Three cargo terminals define Tan Son Nhat's freight operation: Tan Son Nhat Cargo Services (TCS) runs Air Freight Terminals 1 and 2, while the Saigon Cargo Service Corporation (SCSC) operates a dedicated 14.3-hectare facility, together offering around 700,000 tonnes of annual capacity. The airport remains southern Vietnam's principal cargo gateway, recently handling more than 516,000 tonnes a year, even as it sits behind Hanoi in volume. SCSC alone processed about 50,000 tonnes of international freight in the first half of 2024, up more than 60 percent year-on-year. Integrators FedEx, UPS and DHL operate here alongside Vietnam Airlines Cargo and many international carriers. The main commodities are textiles, electronics, seafood and e-commerce parcels from the manufacturing south around Ho Chi Minh City. Its inner-city location keeps industrial zones close but limits physical expansion. The new Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province is being built to absorb much of the international traffic in the coming years.
