## Description

Two ground handlers, TCS and SCSC, split the freight business at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN/VVTS), Vietnam's largest air cargo gateway in Ho Chi Minh City. Combined terminal capacity exceeds 600,000 tonnes a year, with SCSC alone operating a 14.3-hectare facility whose apron can take up to three Boeing 747Fs or five A321-class freighters at once. That means SGN handles genuine freighter traffic rather than belly cargo only, backed by cold-chain rooms for perishables and pharmaceuticals plus dedicated dangerous-goods storage. Electronics and garments from the industrial zones around Ho Chi Minh City dominate exports, alongside seafood and fruit trucked in from the Mekong Delta. Customs clearance takes place inside the terminals, and sea-air shippers can reach Cat Lai container port in roughly 15 km or the Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water terminals in about 90 km by road. Because the site is hemmed in by the city, Vietnam is building the new Long Thanh airport some 40 km to the east, where Vietnam Airlines and handling group SATS have agreed to cooperate on the cargo terminal.
