## Description

At roughly 2.35 million tonnes of cargo in 2024, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE/RCTP) ranks among the world's busiest freight airports. About 62% of that tonnage is electronics, semiconductors and precision machinery, which ties TPE directly to the island's chip industry. This is genuine freighter business: China Airlines Cargo and EVA Air Cargo both run dedicated fleets from Taoyuan, EVA having added two converted Boeing 777Fs and China Airlines having widened freighter cooperation with Cainiao and SF Airlines. Ground handling is shared between Taiwan Air Cargo Terminals (TACT) and Evergreen's cargo handling arm. Terminal 3 is now targeted for completion in 2027, and together with a third runway the airport aims for around four million tonnes of annual freight capacity by 2030. Kaohsiung (KHH) and Taichung (RMQ) serve as domestic alternatives, with Hong Kong (HKG) the usual regional fallback.
