## Description

With more than two million passengers a year, Surat Thani ranks as Thailand's tenth-busiest airport — striking for a provincial field, and largely thanks to budget travellers bound for Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan by bus and ferry. Around twenty daily flights are operated by Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, Thai Vietjet and Nok Air across domestic and a few international routes. Despite the traffic, there is no dedicated cargo terminal; freight moves as belly load, and the region's rubber and palm-oil exports leave by road and via the nearby Phunphin railway junction. Genuine air-cargo volumes are consolidated through Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi. For logistics, URT is a busy passenger gateway rather than a freight one.
