## Description

A 2,744-metre runway built to US Navy standards, ample apron and hangar space, and a ready-made bonded environment define Subic Bay International Airport (SFS), set inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The site served as FedEx's Asian AsiaOne sorting hub from 1995 until the carrier shifted operations to Guangzhou in 2009, leaving much of that capacity underused. Scheduled passenger service is minimal today; the airport's value lies in cargo and logistics. The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) has pushed projects since 2023–24 to revive the freighter and warehouse assets, including a specialised cargo-and-logistics facility and a grain terminal.
