## Description

The name Dongta — "East Pagoda" — still marks Shenyang's aviation history: this airfield in Dadong district served as the city's main airport until commercial traffic moved to Taoxian in 1989. One of the oldest airfields in Northeast China, it no longer handles passenger or cargo flights, and much of the site has been redeveloped. For logistics it has no function today; air freight for Shenyang is handled at Shenyang Taoxian International (SHE), which offers freighter and belly capacity for all of Liaoning.
