## Description

Shahbaz Air Base rose to prominence after 2001, when US forces used the Jacobabad field during regional operations until their departure around 2011. Today it is a Pakistan Air Force installation in northern Sindh with no civilian scheduled or cargo service. The base has no commercial freight terminal, customs or warehousing. Goods for Jacobabad — among the hottest inhabited places on Earth — and the surrounding districts move through Sukkur or distant Karachi (KHI). The Indus Highway (N-65) and the railway toward Quetta provide the surface links.
