## Description

Capacity of 30,000 tonnes a year against current throughput near 10,000 tonnes leaves Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport room to grow as Zimbabwe's principal gateway in Harare. A planned billion-dollar cargo village by Transvaal Africa — adding grading, sorting and packaging — aims to close that gap and lift agricultural exports. Ground handling in the 12,000 m² cargo terminal is run by Aviation Ground Services (AGS), covering dangerous goods, perishables and live animals. Air Zimbabwe Cargo provides freight lift alongside belly capacity from Emirates SkyCargo, Ethiopian Cargo, Qatar Airways Cargo, Kenya Airways and RwandAir. Tobacco, cut flowers and fresh vegetables lead the export mix, complemented by mineral shipments. Landlocked Zimbabwe relies on the seaports of Beira in Mozambique and Durban, with the Beira corridor linking Harare to the coast by road and rail. Customs and bonded storage fall under the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA). Perched at about 1,490 m, the airport is also the home base of Air Zimbabwe and Fastjet.
