## Description

The Baltic states' freight ambitions have an address: the Baltic Cargo Hub at Riga Airport (IATA: RIX, ICAO: EVRA), opened in 2025 with an annual handling capacity of 45,000 tonnes – the largest dedicated air cargo centre in the region. The investment follows a clear logic: Latvia's capital airport, by far the biggest of the three Baltic countries, wants to consolidate regional freight flows that have traditionally routed via Helsinki, Warsaw or Frankfurt.
