## Description

Lebanon's plan for a second international gateway centres on Kleyate (KYE/OLKA), today the René Mouawad Air Base of the Lebanese Air Force near Tripoli, with no commercial cargo. In 2025 the government committed to a phased reopening as a civilian airport, with tendering due in early 2026 and gradual operations to follow. Until then, all Lebanese air freight is consolidated at Beirut (BEY), about 80 km to the south.
