## Description

The Philippine Air Force operates Rajah Buayan Air Base as one of its southernmost stations, supporting security operations across southern Mindanao and the BARMM region. The site is the former General Santos city airport; with the opening of the new General Santos International Airport (GES) at Tambler, all commercial passenger and freight traffic — including the city's prized fresh-tuna exports — moved there. Forwarders handling cargo should therefore route through GES, where tuna processing and packing plants sit beside the apron. Rajah Buayan itself carries no commercial freight.
