## Description

Handling up to roughly 1,560 passengers per hour, Aristides Pereira International Airport (BVC) is the third-busiest in Cape Verde and the main entry point for tourists to Boa Vista. About five kilometres southeast of Sal Rei, it was renamed in 2011 after the country's first president, having begun as Rabil Airport. Its 2,100-metre runway receives seasonal charter and scheduled flights operated by Transavia, TUI fly and Neos, mostly from European cities. The airport has no dedicated cargo terminal; freight travels as belly load aboard these passenger services. Larger airfreight needs are consolidated via Sal (SID) and Lisbon (LIS).
