## Description

Roughly 300 tonnes of air cargo a year – that is the entire throughput of Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Airport (BPE), in a city whose seaport ranks as the world's largest coal export harbour. Opened in 2016 in Changli county to replace the old Shanhaiguan airfield, BPE is a passenger operation with routes to Shanghai, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities. Air freight for the region is routed via Tianjin Binhai (TSN) or Beijing, while bulk flows of coal and steel move through Qinhuangdao's seaport and the dedicated Daqin railway. The area is also known for the Beidaihe seaside resort and the Shanhaiguan pass of the Great Wall.
