## Description

At the far northern tip of Myanmar, in Kachin State near the Hkakabo Razi massif, Putao (PBU) ranks among the country's most remote airfields. The airport survives largely on adventure tourism, with trekkers and climbers arriving via Myitkyina and Mandalay on highly seasonal, weather-dependent services. It carries no cargo infrastructure — no terminal and no bonded storage — so goods travel as light belly loads or along the rough road to Myitkyina. Forwarders will find no air-freight function here; commercial cargo for Myanmar concentrates at Yangon (RGN). Snow, monsoon and isolation make Putao one of the hardest places in the country to serve by surface transport.
