With more than 6.9 million passengers in 2025, Puerto Vallarta International Airport (IATA: PVR) ranks as Mexico's seventh-busiest airport. Officially named Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport and run by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), it is overwhelmingly a leisure gateway, linking the Riviera Nayarit and Jalisco coast to the US, Canada, the UK and domestic Mexico. Cargo plays only a minor part: ground handler Swissport and a handful of courier firms move belly freight and express parcels, but the airport has no dedicated freight terminal.
