## Description

Amerijet International has linked Sint Maarten to its Caribbean network for decades, today with Boeing 767 freighters that turn Princess Juliana into the cargo feeder for the northeastern Antilles. Beyond the tourist fame of its Maho Beach approach — where jets cross the sand metres above sunbathers onto runway 10/28 — SXM runs a dedicated cargo terminal on the airport's eastern side, with a roughly 7,000 m² freight apron kept separate from passenger operations. Belly capacity on KLM, Air France, American, Delta and JetBlue services supplements the scheduled freighter lift. From here goods are redistributed to neighbouring Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barthélemy, Anguilla and Dominica. As an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Sint Maarten clears customs under its own administration and maintains a long-standing free-port tradition with low import duties. Heavy break-bulk and containers move instead through the seaport of Philipsburg, leaving air freight to express shipments, spare parts and fresh produce for the hotel sector and island supply.
