About 23.8 million pounds of freight — roughly 10,800 tonnes — moved through Portland International Jetport (PWM/KPWM) in 2023, making it Maine's principal air freight access point rather than a cargo hub in its own right. The airport is comfortably the busiest in the state and logged its busiest passenger year on record in 2025, after some 2.44 million travellers in 2024.
