Set on the basalt plateau of Vietnam's Central Highlands, Pleiku Airport (PXU) serves Gia Lai province and the surrounding coffee and pepper country. Domestic carriers Vietnam Airlines and VietJet link it to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with about six departures a day; the busiest route, to Hanoi (HAN), sees roughly 21 flights a week. The airport has no dedicated freighter facility; cargo travels in the belly holds of passenger aircraft, while larger export volumes move by road or connecting flights to the main cargo gateways at Tan Son Nhat (SGN) and Da Nang (DAD).
