## Description

Donor organs, relief supplies, troop movements — when Italy's air force needs airlift, it departs from Pisa: the 46ª Brigata Aerea and its C-130J fleet share Galileo Galilei Airport (IATA: PSA, ICAO: LIRP) with civilian traffic. On the civil side, Pisa ranks as Tuscany's largest airport with around 5.5 million passengers in 2024, and Ryanair operates one of its oldest Italian bases here. Toscana Aeroporti, which also manages Florence and is majority-owned by Argentina's Corporación América Airports, runs the field. For freight, Pisa concentrates virtually all of the region's airfreight: roughly 13,000 tonnes in 2024, eighth among Italy's cargo airports.
