## Description

Phitsanulok once served as the capital of Siam in the 14th century, and today its provincial airport keeps the lower-northern region tied to the national network. Carriers Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air and Nok Air operate the short hop to Bangkok's Don Mueang, the airport's only scheduled route. Cargo handling is minimal — roughly 150 tonnes a year, carried as belly freight rather than on dedicated freighters — so forwarders route genuine air-cargo volumes through Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok. The 3,000-metre runway and a position on Thailand's Northern railway give the city solid surface links for onward trucking. In practice, PHS is a passenger feeder, not a freight terminal.
