## Description

With around 2.38 million passengers in 2017, Penghu Magong (IATA MZG, ICAO RCQC) is Taiwan's fifth-busiest airport, yet an almost entirely domestic one. It sits at Huxi on the Penghu archipelago in the Taiwan Strait and shares its site with the ROC Air Force's Magong Air Base. Cargo here is limited to belly freight and mail on domestic flights to Taipei Songshan (TSA), Kaohsiung (KHH) and Taichung (RMQ); no significant international air freight is handled. Shippers moving export cargo from Penghu consolidate through Kaohsiung (KHH) or Taiwan's main freight gateway, Taoyuan (TPE), on the main island. For passengers and island resupply, however, MZG is the archipelago's essential air link.
