## Description

An IATA code on the map does not mean a loading dock on the ground: Paya Lebar Air Base (IATA: QPG, ICAO: WSAP) is a Republic of Singapore Air Force installation with no civilian or cargo operations. The field served as Singapore International Airport from 1955 to 1981 before Changi took over, and today hosts RSAF fighter squadrons including F-15SGs. Under the URA Master Plan 2025, the base is set to be decommissioned from 2030, with its assets moving to Changi East and Tengah air bases and roughly 800 hectares freed for a new town of about 150,000 homes. All air freight for Singapore moves through Changi (SIN) and its Changi Airfreight Centre free trade zone, a few kilometres to the east.
