## Description

Three kilometres north of Pakse in Champasak province, this field is the main air gateway to southern Laos. Lao Airlines – about 93% of departures – and Greater Bay Airlines serve mainly Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap, with a seasonal Guangzhou link running November to March. Cargo moves only as belly freight on these services; there is no standalone freight operation or cargo terminal. Shippers with scheduled or larger consignments consolidate through the cargo terminal at Wattay (VTE) in Vientiane, while the 2009 renovation gave Pakse an upgraded terminal and control tower for regional traffic.
